Should we pick a time zone to use as the guild official time zone, or can we use server time just to streamline things for peeps and future peeps that may be in differing time zones that the most of us. I like the server (UTC) time.
It’s been my impression that the bulk of our members are either in CST or PST, so I’ve just been posting both of those. Additionally, I think using daily reset is a good metric (ie – missions are two hours past reset), albeit a bit wordy.
My concern with UTC is that most people will see “Guild Missions at 2am UTC” and immediately think, “I can’t make that!”
If I get the calendar plugin that I want working, it will actually convert all times to the local time of the person logged in (assuming they’ve set their time zone). Obviously I think that would be the best solution.
On it! I’m also gonna get everyone’s birthdays in there. Just have been crunched for time the past couple days.
Also I looked into a front-end calendar submission, and for the plugin we use, it’s $60 a year. :/ And as far as I’ve looked, there isn’t a better free option. So I’ll just have to add things manually. I might see if I can give your account permissions though.
